            Butlins Competition

On 21 January the band travelled to Skegness to take part in the Butlins Mineworkers Competition.

The band played in the 1st Section, along with 22 other bands performing Eric Ball's High Peak. The band were pleased with the result, being placed 5th and are now looking forward to the year ahead.

The adjudicators particularly praised the bands dynamic range, individual solo players and the interpretation of the music in in their adjudications.

In addition, the brass band website 4barsrest.com commented:
"Kidlington Concert Brass was the first band after  Drighlington to deliver a well defined account of musical flow and understanding from Duncan Wilson".
They were however less than complimentary about Duncan's very fetching waistcoat:
"blimey, Kidlington's MD has just walked on stage in a very bright red waistcoat, no excuses for not seeing him then" - 4barsrest.com twitter feed.
